The King’s colour the first flag for the Kingdom of Great Britain which was ordered by King James VI and I consists of the English Flag of St George and the Scottish Saltire St Andrews Flag.

The first Union Flag was raised by James cook on April 29 1770 at Stingray Harbour ( Botany Bay ) and then again on Possession Island on August 22 1770 .
